Project-Proof Your Strategic Plan
Most organizations will spend a considerable amount of time and energy developing a strategic plan that they hope will see them through the next 3 to 5 years. That’s the good news. The bad news, suggests Forbes.com, is that about 60% of these plans will never get off the ground and worse yet, half of the rest will fail.
Strategic planning seems easy and for many it really is. But the part we all miss is the execution side. We create great plan but that we walk away and hope others will look after.
I’ve often said that strategy execution is really project management on steroids. A good plan needs good execution strategy.
Over the past couple of years I’ve directed a lot of my attention to this business of strategy execution. As my new book nears completion are starting to work more often with organizations and associations both on their own strategy execution plans and presenting in educating their employees and members.
So, what can I do for you?
I teach. As of early 2018 I have a half-day workshop that I presented a few times recently to organizations built around the concepts that we presented our new book “The Seven Elements Of Strategy Execution.“
I speak at conferences to inspire and educate. My new book, as mentioned above, is due to be published first quarter of 2018. My co-author, Mona Mitchell, and I have spent the past two years interviewing senior executives and working with organizations to craft our ideas, tips and tricks on executing strategic plans. My keynote or breakout session on this topic comes with stories and examples from the field as we explore the art and science of executing the strategic plan.
I blog to keep you thinking:
